If My People Who Are Called by My Name
Does anyone remember the bumper sticker of some years ago, “I Found It.”?  It was a
bumper sticker for new Christians proclaiming they’d found Jesus Christ.  I don’t
know what denomination it started with, but I do remember seeing a lot of the
bumper stickers.  It might have been a mini revival.

A revival is certainly something I’d like to see today.  Think how cool it would be to
see “Born Again” stickers everywhere with a corresponding loving attitude to go along
with the transformation.  We need revival in this country in a big way.  The Old
Testament is replete with stories about  children of Israel starting out strong with the
Lord and then falling away.  Take Solomon for example, he was given an intact nation
when he came to power and, since he asked the Lord  only for wisdom, he was also
given wealth and power.  But Solomon let his heart be turned from total devotion to
God by marrying foreign women.   The foreign women brought their foreign gods into
the home and by the end of Solomon’s reign, because of his disobedience the Lord
proclaimed there would be a consequence for Solomon turning his back and being
disobedient.     Solomon’s son came to power and the nation of Israel was split in
two, with only the tribe of Judah following Rehoboam.

The Lord is merciful, when the children of Israel repented and returned to the Him,
there was always forgiveness and blessing.

So it can be with this country.  We need a revival, we need for Christians to recommit
to serving the Lord. We need Christians to share the love of Christ with non-believing
neighbors,  and to pray for hard hearts in this country to be softened by the love and
mercy that God offers repentant hearts.
Would you also Destroy the Righteous with the Wicked?
Genesis 18:16 begins the story of  Abraham's intercession for Sodom and Gomorrah.
Angels of the Lord share with Abraham God’s plan for the destruction of Sodom and
Gomorr
ah, “Because the out cry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is
very grave.”

Righteous people were crying out to the Lord for judgment to be brought down on
the two wicked cities, the Lord heard and was prepared to answer with judgment.
But Abraham interceded, not for the wicked, but for the righteous who were, for
some reason  or another,  entangled in amongst the wicked.  And God did not want
to destroy the righteous with the wicked, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”
We know that only Lot and his family were dragged from Sodom, the rest of the
wicked city was destroyed.

As merciful as God is,  unrepentant wickedness deserves judgment.  Pray, Christians,
pray for revival and repentance, God will hear and hearts will turn.

"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and  pray  and
seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin and heal their land.   "Now My eyes will be open and My ears
attentive to prayer [made] in this place.”
2Chr 7:14-15

“Give heed to the voice of my cry,  My King and my God,  For to You I will  pray .
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;  In the morning I will direct [it] to
You,  And I will look up.” Psalm 5:2-3

“For this cause everyone who is godly shall  pray  to You  In a time when You may
be found;  Surely in a flood of great waters  They shall not come near him.   You
[are] my hiding place;  You shall preserve me from trouble;  You shall surround me
with songs of deliverance.”
Psalm 32:6-7
